While we encourage you to continue using Japanese systems such as NISA and iDeCo to their full extent, we will also walk you through what kinds of products are available only overseas, and what their advantages and disadvantages mean specifically for expatriates — all explained clearly, without jargon.
Yes — there is real value. Our position is: “Do in Japan what can be done in Japan; pursue overseas what only overseas can offer.” NISA and iDeCo are excellent Japanese schemes, and we encourage you to keep using them. On top of that, holding assets in USD or multiple currencies, and combining them with products unavailable in Japan, is an additional option you can only choose during your time abroad.
Initial consultations, introductory discussions, and seminar participation are all complimentary. Commissions on insurance contracts are typically paid by the insurer, meaning clients are usually not asked to bear any direct fee. We always explain the full details before any contract is signed. Should you request additional services, we proceed only after thorough explanation and your explicit consent.
This is something we put particular emphasis on. Products you contracted during your assignment will continue to be looked after, in Japanese, by the same team for the long term. Concretely, that covers address changes, updates to beneficiaries and family information, consultations as your life stage evolves, and procedures at maturity or claim — all handled in Japanese. We have built our organisation to institutionally guarantee continuity of your advisor.
